RECIPE: How to make pounded yam in a blender

Total time: 25mins        Yield: 1-2         Level: Easy

You need: 4 slices of yams, 3 cups of water, A medium pot and a blender. Salt is optional.

Cut the yam into small cubes. Peel and rinse thoroughly.
Boil them until they are tender. Make sure the water does not dry up.

Mash the boiled yams with a fork.

Place the boiled yams in the blender little at a time. Don't add water.

Blend for about 30 seconds and pulse in between. Continue this step with the rest.

There you go!

Served with vegetable soup and croaker fish.

  1. Wow. This is explosive. I never thought to use a blender. How was the texture after processing the yam? Did it feel like "correct" pounded yam?

      It was smooth, no lumps.

    2. Interesting. You didn't tell us about the time frame though. Does it take longer than the usual or same time frame.
