RECIPE :: Virgin zobo cosmopolitan

Total time: 40mins                Yield: 4          Level: Easy

A modern and non-alcoholic twist with zobo leaves. Zobo is made from the dried sepal of hibiscus flower. I chilled the glass to keep the cosmo at the ideal temperature as long as possible. You could also check the other recipe Zobo drink.




                                                 You need:

Zobo syrup
  1. 1 cup zobo leaves
  2. 2 cups water
  3. 3 cups sugar
Zobo cosmopolitan
  1. 1 cup zobo syrup
  2. 1/2 cup lime juice
  3. 3 tablespoons honey
  4. 1 cup orange juice
  5. 1 cup cranberry juice
  6. Ice
  7. Martini glass


Zobo leaves.

Heat sugar and water in a sauce pan. Let the sugar dissolve completely.

Add the washed zobo leaves and boil to thicken it. Sieve and leave to cool

Mix the zobo syrup, lime, honey, orange and cranberry until combined. You can use a shaker. 

Pour into the chilled martini glass. {to chill the glass, place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes} I chilled the glass to keep the cosmo at the ideal temperature as long as possible.

  2. This must taste really nice ,I 've never tried the mix with lemon ,when I make it I add a bit of Ginger and lots of sugar.(am a sweet tooth)
