How to STIR and serve starchy solid in a ROLL (amala, pounded yam, semovita etc)

You can stir and roll any starchy solid this way. Amala, pounded yam, eba or semovita but I'm using pounded yam flour.

   You need

Boil the water on high heat. Cover the pot with a lid to make it boil a little bit faster. Turn down the heat once the water starts boiling.

Slowly pour the flour and stir continuously in a circular motion.

Stop pouring the flour when it has covered the water, continue stirring until it's lump free. You could add more flour if there are still lumps.

Pour hot water into it and cook for about 3 minutes. Then continue stirring till it's smooth.

Spread the veg. oil round the plastic wrap. Put the starchy solid on it and cover it with the other end.

With a rolling pin, roll over the wrap to flatten it. Let it be thin as shown in the picture above.

Remove the plastic wrap and start to roll with your hands. Start rolling gently from the wider end.

And that's it, you can officially stir and roll any starchy solid!

You can enjoy it with any soup of your choice. Nigerian bean soupIla AlasepoOtong soupEgusi soupOkra soupEfo riro
