Let me start by saying happy independence day to all my fellow Nigerians. Today I'll be showing you how to make gizdodo, it's the combination of fried gizzards and plantain. Use ripe plantains, to taste better.

   Ingredients

  Tools/Equipment

Wash the gizzards throughly.

Boil and season to taste.

Slice/dice the red pepper, onion and plantain. Roughly blend the red pepper, onion and tomato.

Fry the gizzards and plantain.

Heat up 1/2 cooking spoon of vegetable oil. Fry the chili powder, stock cube, garlic powder, curry, thyme and salt to bring out the flavor.

Stir-fry the sliced/diced onion and red pepper.

Add the blended pepper and palm oil. Cook for about 5 minutes.

Add the fried plantain and gizzards. Simmer for 2 minutes.

Serve with rice or eat it alone.

O you who have believed, do not approach prayer while you are intoxicated until you know what you are saying or in a state of janabah, except those passing through [a place of prayer], until you have washed [your whole body]. And if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women and find no water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and your hands [with it]. Indeed, Allah is ever Pardoning and Forgiving. {An-Nisa 4:43}
