Recipe of the day: Pap with a twist

Total time: 20 minutes                    Yield: 1                        Level: Easy

Pap is a traditional porridge made of ground maize. I'm not a big fan of pap but I'm adding a twist to it by using hibiscus.
So if you don't want your pap to be plain then this recipe is for you. You can take it alone, serve with Nigerian bean cakes or Nigerian bean pudding. I keep thinking about different ideas of making food and snacks for my kids, some day MashAllah.

You need Corn starch, Hibiscus tea, Sugar, Red food coloring & Hot water.

Put 3-4 tablespoons of corn starch in a mug. Add cold water and mix till you have a medium consistency and make sure there are no lumps.

Slowly pour hot water in the mug and keep stirring. Cook in microwave for 1 minute and stir.

Divide into two sections. Pour the hibiscus tea and two drops of red food coloring into the first bowl and stir.

Start by putting the plain pap in the cup. Then the one with the hibiscus tea.

Add sugar to it and enjoy.

Tip: You could add sugar or honey to the plain pap (step 3)

And We did not send any messenger except to be obeyed by permission of Allah . And if, when they wronged themselves, they had come to you, [O Muhammad], and asked forgiveness of Allah and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Accepting of repentance and Merciful. {An-Nisa 4:64}
