Recipe of the day: Zebra cake and Cup Cakes

Total time:
1hr20mins                Yield: 20 servings       Level: Easy
            prep: 20mins

This was my first time baking a zebra cake and it turned out well. You can make this cake for any event. I really like red velvet cake and mixing it with vanilla cake was awesome. I was also able to make cupcakes with the leftover batter.

   Ingredients

   Tools/Equipment

Pre heat oven to 350 F.

Make vanilla and red velvet batter as directed on box separately.

Start by dropping a cup of vanilla batter in the middle of the baking glass. Then the red velvet batter in the middle of the vanilla batter. Continue until the baking glass is half full.

Use the leftover for the cupcakes. Bake for about 45 minutes.

Leave to cool.

Then frost.

   Tips
  • Leave cake to cool or else it will fall apart
  • Bake for about 22 minutes or until toothpick inserted two inches from side of glass comes out almost clean
  • You could dye the frosting if you want ( like I did)
